Beth Hicks-John
Architectural Assistant
Beth completed her RIBA Part 1 and Part 2 Qualification at the Welsh School of Architecture in Cardiff and joined Claridge Architects in 2021.
Her Master’s thesis project explored the meaning of the crafted form and bespoke through the use of digital fabrication methods for the generation of hybrid digitally crafted architecture. She also embarked on an apt MArch dissertation where she walked and captured the unique Irish Border condition during Brexit negotiations. Through the use of photography, sketching and written word she endeavoured to capture a snapshot in time and analyse the existing ‘border’ culture and fringe landscape during ambiguous times.
Previously, Beth worked at Atkins assisting with the delivery of educational projects which focused on improving learning spaces through the use of flexible design, specialist SEN design and sustainable principles.
Hand Drawing is her chosen method of producing compelling discussion driving imagery for the earlier stages of projects to generate strong narratives.
