Maria Pillet

Architectural Assistant

Maria joined Claridge Architects in 2025 after attaining her Part 1 Architecture qualification at Central Saint Martins, UAL, where her final project was nominated for the CSM Culture Equity Award and selected for the Open City Design collection in 2024.

With a strong foundation in fine art and philosophy, she completed a Pre-U Cambridge Philosophy course in 2020 and worked as a curator for an independent gallery in 2023 which informed her university dissertation exploring the phenomenology of space through modern art mediums.

Maria is particularly interested in how atmospheres can be shaped through spatial design and its impact on human perception and well-being. Her work is driven by conceptual methodologies and passive design strategies, creating immersive and experiential spaces. For her final year (BA), she reimagined the role of laundry in social housing, designing a more engaging, communal, and sustainable model that fosters social solidarity while supporting both mental and physical well-being.
